The Ocoee River has tons of stuff to do with the family. There is little to no place to camp around the area, so Raft One has made that possible. The excess land they had on their outpost they turned into a campground. If you are looking for a peaceful place to sleep at night with your family, follow the link and give them a call. They also have great Ocoee Rafting deals for the 2010 season. The Ocoee was the site of the 1996 Olympics and there is tons for everyone to do.

Thanks for a great article which should help those new to this area feel confident about being on the right path. Either that or you’re saving them from a long trip down the wrong path. It’s a winner either way.

Hi Heidi,

This article is not intended to be a complete camping list...just a few tips for a "family camping trip." I think I did state what kind of camping it was for in the title :)

If you would like a list, I have a basic camping checklist here:

Although your list is a good primer, I think that you should state what kind of camping it is for. There are so many different ways to camp that one list could not really prepare the novice.
